Nesting

I have finally been able to get started painting my house.  I have been patiently waiting for the paint machine on base to get fixed.  Paint out in town runs about $60/gallon.  We decided that was some expensive decorating and that I would have to wait.  Well, I finally was able to pick  up a few gallons and start.

I had decided that this house was going to be different colors than our Milwaukee house.  I was getting tired of them after 5 years, some I still love and would do again in a heart beat - but others...

I decided to use sea glass as my inspiration colors - so we visited the beach and collected as many different colors as we could. I narrowed it down to my favorites and then found paint colors that matched.

After getting them home, I am worried that they are all basically the same color.

I started painting the living room and I am freaking out...  I am debating stopping now or finishing.   It looks so yucky and grey!

Not yucky! I love that grey/blue color and it's so popular right now too. (JulieAnn from Milwaukee)

I loved collecting sea glass in Okinawa and Guam. I have a HUGE vase full and have always loved the colors. As far as the paint goes.... I can't really tell in the pictures but go with what you feel! I love looking at your life in pictures of Okinawa... brings back a lot of memories and makes me MISS IT! Hope you are having a BLAST!

Wow, the sea glass is beautiful. I've never been able to find any beach glass when I've looked in the past other than a few recently broken, brown beer bottles.

You'll love the blue once it's all finished. My bedroom is the same color, and it's my most favorite room. I was totally going for the serene, beachy feel.
